Fawwaz
Fawwaz, Driven by Excellence
From the outset, Fawwaz, President and CEO of SATORP, was faced with a mammoth task — building a world-class refinery in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, and constructing a brand-new company from scratch. “We knew from the beginning that we would accept nothing less than the best and we have never compromised on this,” says Fawwaz.
Knowledge Sharing and Innovation
When Saudi Aramco and Total came together to form SATORP, each company brought a wealth of experience to the partnership. As a result, SATORP has become a role model in the business, boasting innovative technologies, cutting-edge training programs, and outstanding teams.
Team Spirit
There can be as many as 43,000 SATORP's employees and contractors on site at any one time, representing more than 20 nationalities. “There is a great sense of belonging and of team spirit on site,” says Fawwaz. “I personally invested a lot of time to make sure it happened this way. SATORP's employees go out of their way to help. It makes my job easier and it is what makes SATORP so special.”
Building a Legacy
“Building a refinery of this size has brought multiple benefits to the region,” Fawwaz notes, from providing employment for Saudi nationals to raising standards in terms of technology and best practices. “The fact that our refinery has been built in Jubail also encourages other companies to invest in our kingdom. All this with the help of Total, a French company, prepared to make the investment.”
"The key to our success is that we have great people who invest time, energy and effort into making SATORP work."
